What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a health profession that specialises in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system. Chiropractic improves the negative effects that these mechanical disorders have on your nervous system and general health (i.e. Disorders of the muscles and joints and the effect they have on your nerves and general health).

So, we know what Chiropractic is, but what does a Chiropractor do?

Chiropractors are primary healthcare practitioners that focus on the relationship between structure (The muscles and joints) and function (Controlled by the nerves). Chiropractors use this relationship to restore and preserve general health and vitality. Chiropractors realise the natural power of the body to heal itself without the use of drugs, and use non-invasive treatment measures such as adjustments and manipulations. Your chiropractor will refer to an appropriate medical specialist should medication or surgery be indicated.
